Yesterday we celebrated two whole years with our darling daughters. Birthdays are great for so many reasons, one of them being a time of reflection.
Parenthood has a way of messing with our sense of time.
The nights of broken sleep seem endless.
The hours of feeling relentlessly needed are like slow ships passing by.
Yet, we blink and a year has passed.
Our hope is to encourage others by sharing both our trials and triumphs. To inspire our readers to slow down and take it all in. You never know what could happen, so MAKE TIME to enjoy your family every day.
Let’s not wait until the hallways are silent and the sticky finger prints are gone, to truly appreciate what we have.
JUNE 13TH: Lani and Libby entered the world at 32 weeks gestation. I was able to hold Lani briefly before they took her away, but Libby was so sick I didn’t even get to see her.
AUGUST 8TH & 10TH: Lani and Libby graduated the NICU!!
NOVEMBER & DECEMEBER: First holidays at HOME with family!
MARCH 26TH: The twins graduated from GI specialist care!
APRIL 19TH-21ST: Hospitalized for dehydration/virus
MAY 13TH: Dedicated at our church in Texas!
OCTOBER 30TH: Libby’s first surgery.
NOVEMBER 29TH: First airplane trip/ Cross-country move!
FEBRUARY 2ND: Finally HOME after 8 months of living in transition!
FEBRUARY 19TH-22ND: Lani hospitalized for partially collapsed lungs, but she made it home for her Daddy’s birthday!
It has been quite the eventful and challenging two years, but Lani and Libby make every single hardship worth it.
Despite everything they have been through, they are the most joyous and kindhearted little girls. Richard and I learn so much from them every day.
On their birthday, we celebrate them and everything we have been through. For those of you who have been following our journey and celebrating with us, THANK YOU.
We could not live this life on our own, and your support means more than you know.
